The manor exhibits Henry Lyte’s famous 16th-century plant directory, ’Lytes Herbal’. The Arts & Crafts style garden was replanted to form ’rooms’ with topiary and colourful herbaceous borders.
The medieval manor house and delightful 14th-century chapel and 15th century
Great Hall, much added to in the 16th century and rescued from dereliction in
the 20th century by Sir Walter Jenner. The interiors were refurnished in period
style and are complemented by the attractive hedged garden with mixed borders
