The Centre, a former Norwegian Sailors Church, is one of the landmark buildings situated in Cardiff Bay and has panoramic views over the waterfront and fresh water lake.
The Centre, managed by the Cardiff Harbour Authority, provides a unique visitor attraction and receives some 200,000 visitors a year since it opened in 1992. It is a renowned cultural venue with a diverse annual programme of art exhibitions, concerts and events. It also boasts one of the cosiest coffee shops on the waterfront with a range of mouth watering cakes and dishes with a distinctive Norwegian flavour.
The Norwegian Room (main hall) and Gallery are both available for hire during opening hours and in the evenings the whole building can be hired, with the coffee shop transformed into a bar. The Centre is known as a “venue with a difference” and makes an ideal location for parties and wedding receptions.
The Centre is proud to actively maintain links with Norway and in particular Hordaland Folkeskommune, whilst the Welsh Norwegian Society holds regular social events and meetings at the Centre.
