Bath Royal Literary & Scientific Institution

With the aim of furthering "the advancement of literature, science and art The Institution was founded in 1824. In 1837 it received its Royal Charter and rapidly acquired a prestigious reputation, particularly in scientific circles.
The Institution had amongst its member’s pioneers who amassed collections of geology, natural history and ethnology of international importance.

The major elements of the collections are -
